You will ensure effective and efficient business management systems and procedures are established and maintained, that all statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met, and that the financial needs of the Community members are addressed.
You will be responsible for the oversight of ongoing maintenance and repairs of all Community properties and will work with the Community's external service providers to assist in the management of property purchases, disposals and leases.
The role is a permanent, part-time position and would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance and who enjoys working in a small team.

About us
The Marist Brothers, Star of the Sea Province is a vibrant community of religious brothers, committed to education, social justice, and supporting the poor and marginalised.
The Province encompasses eleven countries within Australasia, Pasifika, Melanesia and South-East Asia and employs around 100 staff. Our headquarters are in Mascot, Sydney.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Finance graduate, who already has some practical work experience, to join our team.
The role
Reporting to and working closely with the Business Services Manager, you will support the Manager and Accountant with the day-to-day financial operations for the Province.
Specific responsibilities will include accounts payable/receivable; bank and general ledger reconciliations; corporate card administration; assisting with month-end processes, budgeting, and audit preparation; assisting with payroll processing; and collaborating with Community Leaders and external providers to ensure smooth financial workflows.
The role will allow you to develop your financial skills, with a view to stepping up into the Accountant position as required.
The position is permanent, full-time and is based at the Marist Centre in Mascot, Sydney. Following a qualifying period, there will be flexibility to work from home up to two days a week.
About you
You will be a recent graduate (or final year student) who is enthusiastic, energetic, passionate about learning, and has a flexible approach to work.
You will be committed to the mission and values of the Marist Brothers and have a genuine interest in what they do.
Specifically, as the ideal candidate you will meet the following Key Requirements:
Tertiary qualifications (or final-year student) in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce and a desire to work towards CA/CPA qualifications
Some experience with accounting systems, in particular, SAP Business One and MYOB and some experience in an office environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
Genuine desire to learn and develop professionally.
