About Us
St Joseph’s Spirituality and Education Centre (Centre) is a place where people are recharged, re-energised and spend precious time connecting with each other and with nature. The Centre offers retreat programs and also accommodates groups holding their own meetings and conferences. The Centre is part of the Sisters of Saint Joseph’s newly formed Spirituality Ministry whose mission is to develop new approaches and create new paths of creativity that meet the changing culture of the Australian community.
About the Position
We are seeking a dynamic Centre Host who will ensure guests feel welcomed, provide them with information about the facilities and services, and ensure they feel comfortable and supported throughout their stay. You will oversee all catering, accommodation and facilities requirements and assist with the set-up and preparation for programs, meetings, and events, ensuring guests feel at ease and well-cared for.
As Centre Host you will oversee and manage the delivery of spirituality and faith formation activities such as retreats and reflection experiences, meetings, events and educational programs, ensuring ongoing evaluation of service delivery and seeking customer feedback to improve products and services at every opportunity. Using and maintaining internal booking systems to track guest movements and support operational planning are key elements of this role.
You will promote and maintain the Centre as a place of spiritual enrichment and inspiration and identify initiatives, programs and events that can be used to promote the Centre to the general public. You will provide localised input into marketing initiatives aimed at promoting retreats and generating new business opportunities. Liaising with the Centre’s supporters, relevant authorities, community groups and the media to promote the Centre’s services, programs and facilities as part of the ongoing work of the Spirituality Ministry will be key to this role.
You will lead a dedicated team of staff and volunteers responsible for all functional areas of the Centre, including oversight of rosters, timesheets and leave approvals. Effective communication within that team and across other centres within the Spirituality Ministry is essential.
Key to this role will be your ability to understand and embrace the mission of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, and in particular, a willingness to actively support the purpose, vision and mission of the Spirituality Ministry.
This position is a permanent full-time role and will be located at St Joseph’s Spirituality and Education Centre, Kincumber South.
