You will ensure effective and efficient business management systems and procedures are established and maintained, that all statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met, and that the financial needs of the Community members are addressed.
You will be responsible for the oversight of ongoing maintenance and repairs of all Community properties and will work with the Community's external service providers to assist in the management of property purchases, disposals and leases.
The role is a permanent, part-time position and would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance and who enjoys working in a small team.

About Marist Schools Australia
Marist Schools Australia Limited (MSA) draws together 58 Catholic school communities which shape their identity and mission through the spirituality and educational approach that was introduced into the Church by St Marcellin Champagnat. Within this family of schools, 12 are governed by MSA, while the others either have a shared governance arrangement or have partnership agreements that allow MSA to work collaboratively with the schools' diocesan governing authorities. MSA provides its member schools with leadership, support and governance in order that they can continue to be authentic Marist educational communities.
MSA is seeking a seasoned professional with experience in compliance, risk management, governance, legal, and/or policy development to take up the role of Compliance Officer and to champion good quality risk and compliance outcomes for MSA and its schools.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Governance, Risk and legal, the Compliance Officer is a pivotal role that works in collaboration with the Executive Team, school Regional Directors and MSA schools and performs a leading role in the management and maintenance of MSA’s enterprise policy, compliance and risk management systems.
You will lead the reporting of all regulatory compliance, WHS and child safeguarding matters across MSA governed schools and support them in the development and maintenance of MSA’s policies and risk and compliance management tools.
This position plays a key role in supporting the education of MSA staff and College leaders in policy, compliance and risk management. In collaboration with all MSA and College staff, particularly MSA executives and College risk and compliance officers, to support a positive risk and compliance culture.
This is a part-time role working 3 days per week (or the equivalent hours over 4 or 5 days per week) and based in either Sydney (Mascot) or Melbourne (Parkville). Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required for this position from time to time.
About You
Specifically, as the ideal candidate for this role, you will meet the following Key Requirements:
Experience and/or qualifications in an area that is relevant to this role (e.g. compliance, risk management, governance, legal, and/or policy development).
Understanding of and willingness to support the ethos, mission and values of Marist Schools Australia Limited.
Sound understanding of policy development, management and maintenance processes.
Sound IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office suite and database administration.
Ability to think strategically, analyse data and prepare reports.
Ability to act with a very high level of confidentiality and discretion.
Proven experience in working collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
