The Little Company of Mary is an international congregation of Religious Sisters, founded by Venerable Mary Potter. The Little Company of Mary Sisters strive to make a difference by responding to the needs of those they serve.  It is expressed in the ministries of the individual Sisters and through the apostolic works of the Congregation.


The Opportunity


Reporting to the Health and Wellbeing Manager, you will coordinate the day-to-day provision of professional, compassionate and holistic health and wellbeing support services to Sisters living independently and in residential care in Melbourne, Tasmania and Adelaide.


You will arrange for the health and wellbeing of Sisters to be routinely assessed and ensure that any changes in the Sisters’ needs or identified gaps are addressed appropriately.


Using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will build positive relationships with the Sisters, and facilitate their social connection and interaction.


You will attend medical appointments with the Sisters as required, and undertake clinical appraisal in collaboration with Health and Wellbeing Manager and other health professionals.


The role is a permanent, part-time position (with a guaranteed 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday).


The successful candidate will also be required to work weekends as rostered, and be on-call after hours as rostered. The roster will be shared with the Health and Wellbeing Support person.


The position is based in Melbourne and will include occasional interstate travel as required.


About You


Your nursing background, experience in a case management/care coordination role, compassionate nature and flexible approach to work are key to this role.


Specifically, as the ideal candidate you will demonstrate the following Key Requirements:


  • Experience as a registered nurse in an aged care or community aged care setting and current AHPRA registration.

  • Understanding of Australia’s current aged care system and legislation, including knowledge of government funded services.

  • Ability to coordinate clinical, aged, residential and community care to meet the requirements of the Sisters.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop rapport and trust in a professional setting.

  • Ability to use technology such as computers, tablets and smart phone, and assist others in their use.

  • A current Driver’s Licence.

  • Appreciation for the mission, spirituality and ethos of the Little Company of Mary Sisters and willingness to work within the framework of a Catholic organisation.
