You will ensure effective and efficient business management systems and procedures are established and maintained, that all statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met, and that the financial needs of the Community members are addressed.
You will be responsible for the oversight of ongoing maintenance and repairs of all Community properties and will work with the Community's external service providers to assist in the management of property purchases, disposals and leases.
The role is a permanent, part-time position and would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance and who enjoys working in a small team.

The Organisation
The Catholic Diocese of Wagga Wagga (Diocese) is located in the Southwestern district of New South Wales and stretches from Khancoban in the east to Griffith and Yenda in the west. The Role
The Chief Operating Officer is the Diocesan Financial Administrator for the Diocese of Wagga Wagga as defined under Canon Law. The Chief Operating Officer undertakes the role for the enhancement and support of the Diocese in fulfilling its mission.
Reporting to the Bishop of the Diocese, the role of Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the sound financial and commercial management of the temporal goods of the Diocese. The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for providing inspirational leadership, strategic planning and advice for the Diocese in finance, commercial management, investments, property and stewardship. The role is ultimately responsible for promoting a positive organisational culture that fosters and supports the mission of the Catholic Church. The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for the provision of strategic leadership and planning, effective management and advocacy for the Diocese, and for advising the Bishop and Diocesan leaders on high level matters of significance to the whole of the Diocese.
Key Requirements
The Chief Operating Officer will ideally possess the following qualifications, knowledge and experience:
An understanding of and adherence to the Catholic faith and to the mission of the Catholic Church
Experience providing strategic and financial commercial advice, developing financial plans to support strategic investments and initiatives as well as long-term financial sustainability, and an ability to proactively identify and deliver revenue growth initiatives and disciplined cost and productivity management
High-level senior management experience within corporate services overseeing and delivering best-practice outcomes in strategic planning, financial management, general administration, human resources, communications, investments and property services
An influential and inspiring leadership style, with a demonstrated ability to lead large, complex and diverse organisations and people, as well as engage effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
Tertiary qualifications in Finance Accounting, Business, Law or other qualification relevant to this role
A comprehensive understanding of corporate governance, compliance, risk and the legal and regulatory environment governing commercial and not-for-profit organisations
