You will be responsible for the oversight of ongoing maintenance and repairs of all Community properties and will work with the Community's external service providers to assist in the management of property purchases, disposals and leases.
The role is a permanent, part-time position and would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance and who enjoys working in a small team.

Who we are
The Congregation of Sisters of Mercy Parramatta (“Congregation”) is a Catholic women’s religious congregation. Founded in 1888, the Sisters are engaged in many roles and ministries, including primary and secondary education; orphanages; aged care; refugee support and other social justice initiatives. The Sisters operate both locally and in neighbouring developing countries. Their values are mercy, option for the poor, human dignity, justice, and service.
The Congregation Centre is located in Victoria Road, Parramatta, and we are seeking a committed and flexible Finance and Operations Assistant to join our welcoming team.
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, and working as a collaborative team-player, your focus will be to attend to Accounts Payable/Receivable in an efficient manner and to provide support to Congregation members with matters relating to cars and accounts.
Other responsibilities will include attending to account enquiries from suppliers and customers; bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations; compliance reporting of PAYG; coordinating car registrations; and assisting in gathering information for audit reviews.
In undertaking your work, you will uphold the ethos and mission of the Congregation.
The role is an ongoing part-time position, three days per week; however, for a stand-out candidate, flexibility in working days and hours may be considered.
About you
As well as your can-do attitude, professional manner, and personable nature, you will ideally meet the following Key Requirements:
Bookkeeping /accounting experience and proficiency in the use of XERO accounting software
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to details and analytical skills
Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritise work
Excellent people skills and demonstrated capacity to work as a team-player
Ability to act with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality.
