You will be responsible for the oversight of ongoing maintenance and repairs of all Community properties and will work with the Community's external service providers to assist in the management of property purchases, disposals and leases.
The role is a permanent, part-time position and would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance and who enjoys working in a small team.

About us
The Sisters of Mercy Parramatta is a Catholic women’s religious congregation. Founded in 1888, the Sisters are engaged in many roles and ministries, including in school education; parishes; health and aged care; spirituality and retreat centres; adult education and faith formation; advocacy; and social justice. The Sisters operate both locally and in neighbouring developing countries.
Since the foundation of the Parramatta Congregation, the Sisters have continued to respond to the changing needs of the local and global population. The Sisters work with practical application of the Mercy values – mercy, human dignity, justice, service and option for the poor.
The Sisters’ headquarters are located at the Congregation Centre in Parramatta, and they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to coordinate the operational and finance activities of the Congregation Centre office.
About the role
As the successful Operations Manager, you will have responsibility for key operational areas of activity including financial management; payroll; HR and employment matters; IT; property maintenance; contractor management; fleet management; and general administration.
You will oversight and guide the Congregation Centre staff in relation to their administrative duties, and review business processes, systems and practices. You will identify opportunities for change and make recommendations as required to the Congregational Leadership Team.
You will prepare financial and business reports and provide analysis, and input into the strategic initiatives of the Congregation.
The position is a full-time role based at the Congregation Centre office in Victoria Road, Parramatta. Some short distance travel to visit the Community properties will be required from time to time.
About you
Key to this role is your leadership, operations and finance experience and willingness to support the mission and charism of the Sisters of Mercy.
Just as important is your ability to build strong working relationships with the Sisters, staff, colleagues and other internal and external stakeholders.
Specifically, as the ideal candidate you will meet the following Key Requirements:
Relevant tertiary qualifications and membership of a professional association such as CPA/ICA
Strong working knowledge of all aspects of financial and business operations, including statutory requirements and compliance obligations
High level of competency in the use of IT systems (MYOB, Office 365, Single, Touch Payroll) and other Microsoft applications), advanced Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated people and change management skills and proven leadership ability
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to develop positive relationships and work collaboratively with others
Excellent organisational skills and proven ability to multi-task and prioritise work to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality
Willingness to be flexible with working hours as required.
