You will ensure effective and efficient business management systems and procedures are established and maintained, that all statutory reporting and compliance requirements are met, and that the financial needs of the Community members are addressed.
You will be responsible for the oversight of ongoing maintenance and repairs of all Community properties and will work with the Community's external service providers to assist in the management of property purchases, disposals and leases.
The role is a permanent, part-time position and would suit an experienced person looking for work-life balance and who enjoys working in a small team.

About us
The Marist Brothers is an international Catholic religious order that operates globally in 70 countries. It was founded by French priest, St Marcellin Champagnat in 1817. The Mission of the Marists of Champagnat is the education, care, evangelisation and support of young people. Traditionally the favoured means of this has been Catholic schools.
The Star of the Sea Province (“Province”), whose headquarters are based in Mascot, Sydney, encompasses eleven countries within Oceania and South-East Asia. These countries are Australia, Cambodia, Fiji, Kiribati, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste and Vanuatu.
Currently, the Marists own or govern over 30 schools across the Province. There are another 50 or more schools that have Marist heritage, tradition or affiliation. Governance arrangements vary according to country.
There are also other ministries, such as The Hermitage Mittagong, the Champagnat Marist Centre Fiji, and other social projects which require support and supervision for the Province.
The Province is seeking an experienced Executive Director, to commence in the role in early 2025, to work with local communities to ensure achievement of the Marist mission.
About the role
With accountability to the Marist Brothers Provincial, you will facilitate cohesion, collaboration and consistency in mission across the expanse and diversity of the Province.
You will establish and maintain harmonious relationships and ongoing communication with the leaders of the various ministries, while respecting the different structures and governance styles.
Using your exceptional people skills, you will maintain networks at different levels and across the full range of ministries within the Province, and ensure priority is given to the establishment of mission initiatives and projects.
You will ensure ministries are operationally efficient, stable and sustainable and that priority is given to the formation of staff, students, boards and other entities, with any necessary training made available.
You will keep the Provincial Council informed through regular reports, and offer insights, recommendations and proposals.
The position is a full-time role ideally based at the Marist Centre in Sydney, however, consideration will be given to performance of the role from another location.
About you
You will be an experienced senior executive, ideally with knowledge or experience in Marist ministry. You will be culturally sensitive and have a track record of working collaboratively with others.
In particular, as the ideal candidate you will meet the following Key Requirements:
Experience that demonstrates the capacity to manage and lead at an executive level, especially within diverse cultures
Knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Church and Marist mission, tradition, values, education, and spirituality
High-level written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of discretion and confidentiality
Strategic expertise that demonstrates the ability to differentiate between operational and strategic matters, to review strategy constructively and openly, and contribute to effective decision making
Financial and legal knowledge that is sufficient to accurately assess issues and circumstances and make decisions that minimise risk and enhance operations
Willingness and ability to travel interstate and overseas on a regular basis.
